Car left smashed after driver 'reverses into police van' as road cordoned off

A car was left smashed up after a driver reportedly reversed into a police van in Oldham on Monday (July 10).

The crash was reported on Bisley Street, close to Oldham town centre, leaving the rear of the blue Vauxhall badly damaged. Greater Manchester Police are yet to confirm the details of the crash.

It was reported the driver had reversed into a police van, which was left with a partially damaged front. Police blocked off the road following the collision.

Pictures taken on Monday show a recovery vehicle collecting the damaged car from Bisley Street as another police car remained stationed at the scene and officers cordoned off the street.

It is unclear if there were any injuries in the crash or if any arrests were made. Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment.
