Car left on its roof after crash in Hartcliffe

A patient has been treated for injuries following a crash in Hartcliffe which left a car on its roof.

Fire crews from Bedminster were called to Bishport Avenue in the early hours of this morning (April 3) following reports of a road traffic collision.

The crash, which took place at around 12.50am, left the car involved on its roof and oil covering the road.

Firefighters gave first aid to a person at the scene before they were handed over to the care of paramedics.

A member of the public told Bristol Live: "The road was blocked off, loads of police and ambulances at around 1am."

In a tweet, a spokesperson for Bedminster fire station said: "#bluewatch has just attended an RTC in Hartcliffe.

"Crews administered first aid to one person before being handed over to @Swasft.

"Crews then washed the road due to oil spill. @ASpolice was also in attendance and put out a small fire in engine bay."

South Western Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
