A large emergency response was sparked after a car crashed then 'fell down an embankment' near an M60 slip road.
The smash happened on Semple Way, close to junction 21 for Chadderton on the motorway, just before 10pm last night.
Pictures from the scene showed a badly damaged car which appeared to have fallen down a verge at the side of the road near a canal.
The car looked to have smashed into metal railways and fencing before ploughing into bushes.
