A busy city centre road junction was temporarily blocked off following a crash involving two cars.
The collision occurred at the junction of Upper Parliament Street and Crown Street, at around 8pm yesterday.
The front of a black car was left badly smashed up by the impact, while a silver coloured car was also significantly damaged.
It is not thought anyone was seriously injured as a result of the collision.
Cars were diverted down Crown Street and Kingsley Road while emergency services attended the scene.
The ECHO has contacted Merseyside Police for a response.
