Car lands on its side next to bus stop after crash

A wall was damaged after a car landed on its side next to a bus stop in Southport town centre.

Emergency services were called to Queens Road at around 7.55pm last night (Tuesday) following reports of an accident involving a Peugeot and a Toyota.

Photographs showed a Peugeot on its side next to a bus stop. A wall was badly damaged.

Police put a cordon in place on Queens Road after the crash. Police said there were no reports of any serious injuries.

A police spokesman said to the ECHO : "We were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on Queens Road in Southport at around 7.55pm last night, Tuesday 3rd August.

"The collision involved a Peugeot and a Toyota and damage was caused to a wall.

"There are no reports of anyone being seriously injured."
