Car landed on its roof after crashing into courtyard, driver fled

Police are searching for a Canberra driver who flipped their car into the courtyard of a Weston Creek home, before fleeing the scene.

The driver crashed their gold Hyundai Elanta into the rear courtyard of a house on Damala Street in Waramaga, just before 1pm on Sunday.

As a result of the crash, the car landed on its roof.

Police were called to the scene of the incident, but the driver ran off before emergency crews arrived.

Fire and rescue crews attended the crash site to help remove the car from the courtyard.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, using the reference number 6884242.
