A car involved in a fatal Dublin crash in the early hours of this morning had "came to the attention of Gardai" just minutes before the incident, officers have confirmed.
The Garda Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) have now launched an investigation into the two car collision on the N7 outbound near Kingswood which saw one of the drivers tragically killed just after midnight this morning.
The victim in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene and has been removed to Dublin City Morgue.
Three others were injured in the incident also with one of those currently tackling life-threatening injuries.
The man in his 30s is fighting for his life in Tallaght Hospital while a second man in his late 20s was also taken there with non-life threatening injuries and a third man in his 40s was treated at the scene.
The road was closed overnight for Forensic analysis but has since been reopened with investigations into the horror crash ongoing.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic collision between two cars on the N7 outbound at Kingswood, Co. Dublin at approximately 12:20am, 21st September.
"A male in his 40’s the driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced deceased at the scene and has been removed to Dublin City Morgue.
"A male in his 30’s has been taken to Tallaght Hospital with life-threatening injuries and another male in his late 20’s was taken to Tallaght hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
"A male in his 40’s was treated at the scene but did not require hospital admittance."
He added: "The road was closed temporarily for Forensic Collision Investigators to carry out an examination and has now reopened.
"As one of the vehicles came to the attention of Gardaí prior to the incident, this matter has been referred to GSOC and investigation are ongoing."
