Car insurance - a clarification

Our article of November 8 2020 headlined: "Car insurance could be invalid if you drive during lockdown", explored the possibility of motor insurance being invalid if you have an accident during the pandemic, and included a comment from Florence Codjoe, of website Uswitch.com, stating that: “You could end up paying thousands for repairs. If you’re unsure about cover during lockdown speak to your insurer for clarification.”

This article has been removed as, in fact, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) have advised that: "Your cover will not be affected if you drive during the lockdown period.

"However, all motorists should follow government advice and avoid non-essential travel."

We are happy to clarify this.
