Car giant Tesla reveals when its new centre could open in West Bridgford

Electric car-making giant Tesla has revealed when its new centre opposite the Trent Bridge cricket ground is hoped to open.

On its website, the California-based company said the branch could open on March 29.

Its signage is up at the former Sandicliffe Ford and Mercedes showroom site in Loughborough Road, as these pictures show.

The company, which specialises in electric vehicle manufacturing, battery energy storage and solar panel and solar roof tile manufacturing, has centres in Stockport and Birmingham.

This will be Tesla's first site in the East Midlands.

Speaking previously, Chris Hobson, director of policy and external affairs at the East Midlands Chamber, said: "Tesla would be a welcome addition to Nottingham’s business community.

“It is a globally-renowned low carbon, high tech motoring brand which has a lot of synergy with the economy we are trying to build here.

“It’s encouraging to see that, in spite of the ongoing coronavirus situation, businesses are still pushing ahead with investments which will create jobs and prosperity.”

Nottinghamshire Live has attempted to contacted Tesla for comment.
