A woman crashed her Audi into Queens Dock last night.
Pictures from the scene show that a black metal barrier has been damaged and there is now a gap leading directly into the water.
A temporary fence has been put up around the damaged area, as well as a tape cordon.

Emergency services went to King's Parade, at Queens Dock, at around 11pm on Tuesday, February 1.
Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service, along with the Coastguard, were all called to the scene.
It was confirmed that the woman had driven her car through a barrier and into the dock and that her car was fully submerged in the water.

Police confirmed that the woman was able to free herself from the car while it was still floating in the water.
She was checked over by paramedics at the scene and is not believed to be seriously injured.
This morning a spokespersons for the force said the police no longer have any involvement in the incident, as no offences have been identified.
It is not yet clear when the car will be retrieved from the water.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "[The service] was called to Queens Dock on Tuesday 1st March following reports that a car had entered the water.
"Crews were alerted at 11.02pm and on scene at 11.09pm. Two fire engines attended as well as the search and rescue appliance.
"On arrival crews found one car had entered the water, close to Keel Apartments.
"The driver of the vehicle had self-extricated when fire crews arrived. They received first aid on scene and were taken to hospital for further assessment.
"Firefighters cordoned off the area and left the scene at 23.43pm. The incident was handed over to Merseyside Police."
