A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 8.45pm on Friday, officers were called to a report of a car on fire in a car park at HMP Barlinnie, Lee Avenue, Glasgow.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and police enquiries are ongoing.”

The most recent act of willful fire raising comes after a number of attacks at Scottish jails including HMP Low Moss in Bishopbriggs.
