Car found in Saltcoats harbour as woman is rushed to hospital

The sole occupant of a car that was submerged in the icy water at Saltcoats Harbour this morning has been taken to hospital.

Police confirmed the woman has been taken to Crosshouse Hospital "as a precaution".

Emergency services attended Saltcoats Harbour at 8am this morning.

It is understood the car has now been pulled from the water.

A police spokesperson said: "We received report of a car in the water in the Harbour Street area of Saltcoats around 8am on Friday, 14 January, 2022. Emergency services attended and a woman, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, has been taken to Crosshouse Hospital as a precaution.”
