Car flips onto roof in horror early morning crash in Fife

Police have closed the A92 in Fife after a car flipped onto its roof in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene between Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy shortly after midnight on Friday.

Local residents reported hearing multiple sirens and possibly an air ambulance being called to the stretch of road.

Drivers are being warned to expect diversions and delays (Fife Jammer Locations)

Traffic Scotland confirmed that both carriageways between the Redhouse roundabout and Bankhead roundabout remained closed at 7.15am.

They tweeted: “A92 remains closed in both directions between Redhouse and Bankhead roundabouts following an RTC.

“Recovery work is underway but is likely to take some time.”

The southbound carriageway reopened at around 8.27am.

It is not known if anyone was badly injured following the crash.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
