Car flips onto roof after late night crash on Scots road as driver and passenger taken to hospital

A car flipped on its roof following a horror one-car smash in Fife.

The crash took place on the B915 in Dunfermline near ear the M90 Commerce park at around 11pm on Friday night.

Cops raced to reports of a collision to find the vehicle overturned in the middle of the road late last night.

Officers from the Road Policing Unit shut down the road while they dealt with the incident.

Motorists were urged to find another route as the wreckage was recovered from the B915.

It's understood the driver and passenger was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy as a precaution.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 10.50pm on Friday, 20 August to a report of a one car crash on the B915 at Balmule.

"The driver and passenger were taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy as a precaution. The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered.”

In an update shortly before 2am on Saturday, August 21, the force's Road Policing unit confirmed the incident had been cleared.

The road has fully reopened this morning following the smash.
