Car flips onto its side in south Bristol

A car was left on its side in Bedminster this evening (April 16).

The dark-coloured vehicle was seen stranded on the pavement of Coronation Road, with its underside facing the road, at around 6.30pm.

A police car was parked a few metres away, on the route which runs along the south bank of River Avon's New Cut.

South Western Ambulance Service has been approached for information on any potential injuries.

It comes hours after emergency services were called to the scene of an overturned car at the Sainsbury's car park in Stoke Gifford.

Police were called at 11.20am today to the supermarket on Fox Den Road, finding a car on its roof. Three patients were treated by paramedics and discharged at the scene.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said another vehicle reportedly involved had been driven away from the scene before emergency services arrived. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage.
