A car has been flipped on to its roof following a multi-vehicle crash on an Ayrshire road this morning.
The A78 has been closed in one direction approaching the Pennyburn roundabout in North Ayrshire.
An eyewitness has reported seeing at least three vehicles involved in the smash at the Stevenston bypass with police arriving at the scene moments ago.
The crash has been causing enormous tailbacks on what is one of North Ayrshire's busiest roads.
