Car flips on it's roof after collision between two vehicles on a road in Walker

A car has flipped onto its side following an incident in the East End of Newcastle.

Police and fire crews reportedly raced to Welbeck Road following the incident on Saturday night.

"It happened around 8pm to 8.20pm and both fire crews came from Byker, but they were not there long," said Kieran Robison, who took pictures of the aftermath.

"The police then arrived but there was no sign of an ambulance."

The incident happened on the lengthy Walker street near the Magic Wok takeaway.

A second car was also involved in the incident.

Staff there confirmed that police arrived at the scene at around 8pm, but didn't witness the incident.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.

ChronicleLive contacted both Northumbria Police and the fire station, in Byker., for comment.
