Car flips in crash on A38

A man was taken to hospital after a car flipped in a crash.

Avon Fire and Rescue attended the accident and subsequent fuel spillage at 5.51am today (February 27),

The crash, involving one vehicle, happened on the A38 between Grovesend Road and Berkeley Vale garage in Thornbury.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue said: "Crews from Thornbury were called at 05:51hrs to an RTC involving one vehicle which had overturned. 

"One male casualty self-rescued prior to our arrival and was assessed by the ambulance service.

"Ambulance and police crews were in attendance."

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 5.38am about an incident on the A38 at Alveston, Bristol.

"The caller reported to us that a vehicle had overturned.

"We treated a male patient at the scene for a suspected head injury and transported him to hospital by ambulance for further care.”

The incident has now been passed on to South Gloucestershire Council by Avon and Somerset Police who have been approached for comment.
