A car was flipped onto its roof after a dramatic crash on Edge Lane.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene, at the junction of Mill Lane , shortly after 9pm to reports that two cars had been involved in a crash.
Pictures from the crash showed a Volkswagon car on its roof in the middle of the road as other vehicles attempted to drive around it.
In the images, the windscreen was smashed and extensive damage had been caused to the front of the vehicle where it landed.
The VW is believed to have been involved in the crash with a Ford Focus before flipping.
Both drivers stopped at the scene and swapped details before fire crews and a recovery vehicle were tasked with moving the upturned car.
No one was injured in the incident.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services were called to Wavertree following a damage only road traffic collision this evening, Monday 1 July.
"At 9.05pm, officers were called to the junction of Edge Lane Drive and Mill Lane to reports of a collision between a VW and a Ford Focus.
"Nobody was injured and details were exchanged at the scene"
