Car extensively damaged after unknown item launched from bridge over A78

A car has been left extensively damaged after an unknown item was launched from an Ayrshire footbridge.

Police are now appealing for information after the motor's roof was hit by an object close to Castlepark Circle on the A78 towards Ayr just before 5pm on Sunday, January 9.

Irvine Locality Policing Team say they would like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage capturing the incident — or anyone with other pertinent information.
