Car engulfed in flames on Scots street as cops probe deliberate blaze

Dramatic footage has shown the moment a car turned into a fireball on Scots street, with cops treating the blaze as deliberate.

Emergency services were scrambled to Lossie Place, in Emergency services, at around 3:40am in the early hours of Thursday, April 21.

Residents were woken by strange noises in the middle of the night, with the sound of glass smashing.

They then saw the motor engulfed in flames on the street, reports Aberdeen Live.

A clip, taken by Michelle Garrow, shows the drama unfold as water is desperately used to douse the burning vehicle.

Police say the fire is being treated and have launched a probe, with enquiries ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We have received a report of a car on fire on Lossie Place, Aberdeen, around 3.40am on Thursday, April 21.

"The fire is currently being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing."

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
