Car ends up stuck on roadside barrier after crash on the A52 at Saxondale Island

A car crashed into a roadside barrier on the A52 on Thursday evening (August 13).

Emergency services were called to the collision in Bingham, at the Saxondale Island, after 11pm.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said six firefighters from Bingham Fire Station attended.

She said: "It involved one car and the driver self-rescued on arrival. A crew from Bingham attended, using some small tools to make the car safe. It was handed over to the police."

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to the scene just after 11.10pm.

"The collision involved one car and no one was injured. The road has now reopened," she said.

There have been no arrests in connection with the incident.

An eyewitness added: "No one appears to be badly hurt, but the back end of the car is propped up on the crash barrier.

"One fire crew and a police car turned up while I was there."
