Car ends up on roof on pavement after serious road crash in Glasgow's southside

A road on the southside of Glasgow is currently closed following a two-car crash - which saw one vehicle end up flipped onto its roof.

Police and emergency services raced to the scene on Newlands Road around 2:45pm this afternoon.

Officers have confirmed that emergency services remain at the scene and that the road is currently closed at Kintore Road.

Photos from the scene show one vehicle on its roof on the pavement and the other car badly damaged and facing the wrong way on the street nearby - with a police cordon in place.

There are no reports of any injuries at the moment.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: ""Officers were called to Newlands Road in Glasgow shortly before 2.45pm on Sunday, 24 January, 2021, following a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.

"Emergency services are at the scene and the road is currently closed at Kintore Road."
