Car doors ripped off and van destroyed in horror Fife crash amid heavy rainfall

Two vehicles have been left destroyed after a car lost control in a spell of heavy rain and ploughed into the opposite carriageway.

Drivers have been warned to take extra care as heavy rainfall made driving conditions dangerous on Scotland's roads.

Police were called to the scene near a car wash on Caxton Place in Fife around 10.50am following the incident.

Images show the extend of the damage caused to a van and a car with doors ripped off, roofs bashed in and glass and debris smashed across the road.

Officers say it is amazing that no injuries were caused.

In a statement Police Scotland said: “Please take care driving today, heavy rain across the region is making roads slippery.

“Fife Road Police are currently dealing with this crash in Kirkcaldy where the Fiesta lost control and went into the opposing carriageway. Amazingly no serious injuries.”
