Car destroyed in fire during incident at Aldi store

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue was called following a car fire in an Aldi car park in Nottinghamshire.

The fire happened on Thursday, September 23, and one car was destroyed by the fire whilst two others were damaged.

The Ashfield firefighters extinguished the fire at the supermarket in Kirkby-in-Ashfield using one hose reel jet.

Whilst attending the scene, the crew saw an elderly lady fall.

First aid was given and family members were called.

The firefighters stayed with the lady until her family arrived.

The Ashfield Fire Station Facebook page posted about the fire and many comments praise the crew for their actions.

One reader said: "Bless you all hope the lady is OK, that's our fire service."
