Car deliberately set on fire outside Alexandria home prompts police probe

Police are appealing for information after a car was deliberately torched outside a house in Alexandria.

The incident happened around 11pm on Thursday (February 4) when a grey BMW 4 series car was set on fire outside a property in the Kirstie Place area of the town.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything to get in touch. In particular they are keen to speak to three men who were seen in a vehicle at the time.

One is described as white, about 6ft with short, blonde curly hair who was wearing a dark coloured North Face jacket and dark jeans. Another was wearing dark clothing and had a hood up. A third man was also seen

Detective Sergeant Bruce Fyfe said: “These three men were seen in a vehicle at the time of the incident and I am asking anyone who may have seen anything or know who they are to get in touch.

“In addition, anyone with private CCTV or who was driving in the area around the time of the incident and may have dash-cam footage that would help with our investigation is asked to call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3383 of Thursday, 4 February, or to make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
