Car crashes through barrier near McDonald's in Chilwell Retail Park

The police and fire service have issued statements after a car crashed through a barrier near McDonald's in Chilwell Retaill Park.

Two cars were involved in the crash which happened on Nottingham Road at around 8am on Monday August 3, with one vehicle crashing through a barrier before coming to a halt near the drive-thru.

Nottinghamshire Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service and both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident, where a man was injured.

A spokesman for the force said: "Officers were called to a two car collision at around 8am in Nottingham Road, Chilwell.

"A car has gone through some barriers near to the retail park. One person suffered minor injuries to their leg.

"No arrests have been made."

Traffic was flowing along the road shortly afterwards and before 10am, with some delays reported beforehand.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue added: "Long Eaton Blue from Derbyshire FRS attended an RTC involving two vehicles on Chilwell Retail Park, Barton Lane.

"Firefighters made the scene safe. EMAS attended for one male with slight injuries and Notts Police also attended."
