Car crashes near railway line after rolling down embankment

A car swerved off a road and crashed near a railway line in Bury on Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened by Moss Hall Road at Heap Bridge at around 3.30pm. It’s believed the vehicle veered off the road and flipped before coming to a stop at the bottom of the embankment.

Posting to Twitter late on Saturday night, Greater Manchester Police appealed for witnesses, saying: "An investigation has begun after #RPU attended a 1x vehicle RTC #Bury. A Vauxhall Corsa was seen to lose control & leave the carriageway on to an embankment before coming to a rest on the East Lancs Railway. Serious injuries caused and witnesses sought: Log: 1845-230722."
