Car crashes into barrier on busy road leaving woman in hospital

A woman was rushed to hospital after a car crashed into a barrier on a busy road.

Gardai and emergency services were alerted to the collision on the N11 at Wingfield, Co Wicklow on Sunday night shortly after 9pm.

The driver, a woman in her 30s, was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment after the car collided with a central wall.

Additionally, firefighters and advanced paramedics were called to another collision on Usher's Quay on Saturday night after a car crashed into the quay wall.

Pictures shared by Dublin Fire Brigade show a part of the wall severely damaged after the crash.

Emergency services closed the road as the Dublin City Council crew worked to make the scene safe.

Meanwhile, another motorist on the M50 escaped serious injury on Saturday morning after their car crashed through the median near the Cherrywood junction of the M50 heading soutbound.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to attend to the driver where, thankfully, they escaped serious harm.
