Two cars have been involved in an accident at a notorious accident black spot in Motherwell this afternoon.
Police say an individual has been taken to hospital following the road crash at The Loaning today (February 17) at 1.30pm.
The latest incident happened just yards away from the spot where schoolgirl Abbie McLaren was killed after being struck by a car after stepping off a bus with her friends.
A memorial walk was held just last week in the area with residents calling for tougher road safety measures to be put in place.
A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: “Police were called to a report just before 1.30pm that two cars had crashed. One person has been taken to hospital. Both vehicles have been recovered."
