RESTORE Britain leader Rupert Lowe has been described as "amazingly embarrassing" after a car crash BBC radio interview, in which the multi-millionaire claimed "I'm not far right, I am a normal punter".
The former Reform UK MP appeared on the Radio 4 Today show on Thursday morning, but went on a confusing rant about "Islamification" of the UK, refused to answer questions put to him, and refused to say if he considers King Charles a "white Briton".

Speaking to the BBC's Nick Robinson, Lowe said he describes his policies as "common sense thought" rather than "right wing thought", adding: "What's happened is your monopoly, the national monopoly, the BBC, which has become a lie in my view – has gone so far left that anyone who speaks common sense appears to be far right in your terms.
"Well, I'm not far right, I am a normal punter, ok? And I want my country back. I don't want all of the piffle and the rubbish that you lot peddle, I want a country that works and is at peace with itself and is founded upon the Christian principles which have served us extremely well for many thousands of years."
Robinson interjected, stating: "Mr Lowe, in reality you're a man with money, and a grudge, and a social media account who airs his prejudices on X and gets heard because you have the backing of Elon Musk."

When Lowe described the UK as undergoing "gradual Islamification", Robinson asked: "What's the evidence for that?"
Lowe responded by accusing the BBC of "changing the nature of everything".
Again, Robinson insisted on Lowe providing evidence.
Lowe claimed that the BBC should have reported on a "219-page" document produced by Restore Britain about rape gangs, to which Robinson responded: "We covered rape gangs in detail, we covered the national enquiry."
He added: "Forgive me, I'm not trying to be clever. I'm just trying to ask you to explain your words ... let me ask you one more time, what is the evidence that Britain – in your words – is hurtling towards becoming an Islamic country?"
Lowe said: "It's quite plain for everyone to see when you see large parts of the country running a parallel system. And you are seeing as a result of that, the manifestation of Pakistani, Muslim rape gangs – most people are Pakistani Muslims."
He added: "If you had the intellectual appetite to read the report, I don't think you'd even need to ask me this questions."
Robinson responded: "Well the reason I ask you the question is this, because you quote and have often quoted a prediction that white Britons will be a minority by 2063. Are you aware that by the definitions used in that particular report, King Charles is not a white Briton [because his father was born in Greece].
"Do you think he is a white Briton?"
Lowe said: "Many people have different definitions of that, and we can split hairs, but I think it's quite clear, if you speak to most British people, they'd agree."
The pair then began talking over each other ,with Robinson saying "here we go" once Lowe said BBC listener numbers are falling while Restore Britain's membership is rising.
Users on social media were quick to point out the "amazingly embarrassing" interview.
One person said: "Rupert Lowe on #r4today is amazingly embarrassing. Saying absolutely nothing and banging on about his rape gang report and then just yelling about how shit the BBC are. Hasn’t answered a single question, just massively unserious."
Raheem Kassam – a communications consultant and former adviser to Nigel Farage – said: "Just listened to Rupert Lowe on the Today programme. Man has absolutely no message discipline or ability to answer a question without making it about himself or his perpetual victimhood mentality. Embarrassing."
Another person wrote on social media: "Rupert Lowe exposed himself in this #R4Today interview. I have never heard anything like it.
"He came across as a domineering, out-of-control nutter, ranting: 'I'm not far right, I'm a normal punter!' A breath-taking car crash. A must-listen – if you can bear it. Dear oh dear."
Lowe, however, was proud of his performance. Sharing a clip on X, he wrote: "I doubt I'll be invited back on the BBC any time soon."
