Dublin Fire Brigade has posted about a horror incident which saw a car smash into a pole in Dublin.
Road traffic has returned to near pre-pandemic levels, with motorists returning to the road as part of the reopening of Ireland in 2022.
But one motorist could've been seriously injured in a collision on Saturday evening
A statement from DFB reads: "Firefighter/Paramedics from Donnybrook fire station were called to a road traffic collision in Mount Merrion overnight. The vehicle had collided with a lamp post, no occupants were present at the scene."
They tweeted pictures of the incident and it was a very lucky escape for the motorist.

Meanwhile, DFB have warned people of the dangers of 'drunk cooking' - but were surprised about one incident involving a takeaway and an oven.
Usually, the best way to end a night after a feed of pints and cocktails is for people to head to their nearest takeaway to find the greasiest possible meal to help soak up some of the alcohol in their systems.
It's also a handy way to avoid having to rustle something up yourself while you're absolutely gazeboed at four in the morning.
But one person decided to try and do both recently, leading to the piece of advice from Dublin Fire Brigade.
DFB tweeted: "We often recommend getting a take away to avoid late night #DrunkCooking fires."
"But remember, fast food boxes and ovens don't mix"
Attached to the tweet was an incinerated pizza box - which are usually made of cardboard.
