Car collides with Luas tram in Dublin as motorists advised to avoid the area

A car has collided with a Luas tram in Dublin City Centre.

Gardai told the Irish Mirror that the incident occurred on Benburb Street, located in the north of the city, on Wednesday evening.

No one involved in the crash has been reported injured at this point.

Blackhall Place at Benburb Street is currently closed with diversions in place, and drivers are advised to plan their routes around the area.

A statement from officers explained: “Gardai are currently the scene of an incident on Benburb Street. A car collided with a Luas tram this evening, Wednesday December 8, 2021.

“No injuries have been reported at this time.

“Blackhall Place at Benburb Street is currently closed and diversions are in place. Motorists are advised to avoid this route where possible.”
