Car bursts into flames on residential street in Cardiff

A car burst into flames on a residential street in Cardiff.

The blaze broke out in the front of the vehicle shortly before 1.30pm on Friday, December 11 as it was on Marlborough Road, in the Roath area of the city.

A fire crew from Cardiff arrived at the scene shortly after the fire broke out.

It’s not known how many occupants were inside the car at the time of the incident, but no one sustained any injuries.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within around 20 minutes.

A spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 1.26pm on Friday alerting us to a vehicle fire on Marlborough Road in Roath.

“The car was well alight at the time of arrival at the scene.

“A crew from Cardiff Central used one hose reel jet and breaking in tools, and the fire was extinguished by 1.50pm.

“Police were informed of the incident, but the ambulance service was not required as there were no injuries reported.”
