A van burst into flames close the M8 motorway in Glasgow causing delays for motorists.
The vehicle, stationary on Baird Street in Royston, Glasgow, was engulfed by flames as plumes of black smoke rose high into the air.
Police officers were first on the scene before fire crews attended at around 4pm on Thursday afternoon.
It is understood no one was injured in the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed the force were called to a vehicle on fire in the Royston area at around 4pm.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has also been contacted for comment.
