Fire crews have raced to a blaze in Edinburgh after a car burst into flames.
Emergency services dashed to the scene on Maidencraig Crescent after the alarm was raised at around 1:50pm.
Dramatic photos taken by a bus passenger show in the vehicle in the middle of the road engulfed in flames.
Crews remain at the scene this afternoon battling to control the inferno, which is near the junction with the busy A90.
It's understood no one has been injured in the blaze.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a vehicle alight on Maidencraig Crescent, Edinburgh, at 1:51pm. One fire appliance was mobilised to the scene.
"Crews remain in attendance. There were no persons involved."
It's not yet clear what sparked the huge fire, although there is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
Police also attended the incident and helped to shut the road while the incident was dealt with
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Edinburgh were called to Maidencraig Crescent around 2.10pm on Sunday, 22 August, following a report of a car on fire.
"Officers are assisting with traffic management and the road remains closed. The council has been contacted due to damage to the road surface.”
