Car bursts into flames in in Lidl supermarket car park in Yate

Firefighters were called to the Lidl car park in Yate this afternoon after a car went up in flames.

Crews could be seen tackling the blaze outside the store in Kennedy Way around 1pm on Saturday (May 4).

There were no other emergency services at the scene and it is not believed that anyone was injured as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Fire crews from Yate were kept busy last night as they helped to tackle a huge blaze in Speedwell.

Ten crews from stations across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire were sent to the Strachan and Henshaw Building, based on Foundry Lane.

Flames and smoke could be seen across the city.

It is believed that some firefighters are still on the scene dealing with the incident
