A car has burst into flames at an Ayrshire retail park this afternoon.
The black Audi was completely engulfed at the East Road retail park in Irvine as stunned shoppers went about their business.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crew raced to the scene shortly after 2.30pm and doused the car in a bid to extinguish the blaze.
The busy retail park is home to Aldi, Dominos Pizza and Halfords.
An SFRS spokeswoman confirmed that a fire crew is currently attending a vehicle fire outside Halfords on East Road.
One appliance was dispatched after being called at 2.34pm and a single hose reel jet is being used to extinguish the flames.
Officials could not confirm if there are any injuries as a result of the fire at this stage.
