Car breaks down, Kolkata cop takes two to exam hall

KOLKATA: A Kolkata Police inspector escorted two Madhyamik students to their exam centre in his vehicle on Friday as their car broke down near Shyambazar. The two were scared of missing the exam that was due to start in less than 10 minutes.

Soumik Sengupta, the additional OC of Shyambazar traffic guard, rushed to the spot around 11.35pm after he was alerted about the matter. On reaching RG Kar Road, Sengupta found the students and their parents who were trying to arrange for a commute to the exam centre at St Margaret’s School on Duff Street, around 2-km away from the place, where they got stranded.

“This is a part of my duty. I am happy to be able to help the students,” said Sengupta.
