Car belonging to missing pedo who sexually assaulted two nieces discovered off Wexford coast

A car belonging to a missing paedophile who sexually assaulted two of his nieces has been discovered in the sea.

The submerged vehicle was found by a member of the public diving off the coast of Kilmore Quay in Co Wexford yesterday morning.

It is understood the car belongs to William Busher, who was reported missing in January last year aged 89.

He was sentenced to 12 months behind bars in 2013 after pleading guilty to sexual assault.

The offences occurred almost four decades apart, with Busher admitting exposing himself to one niece between 1968 and 1971 and sexually assaulting another between 1997 and 2003.

Busher was last seen in the Kilmore Quay area driving his brown Nissan Qashqai.

It is not yet known if any human remains were in the submerged vehicle.

A Garda spokesman said: “Officers at Wexford are investigating the discovery of a vehicle, possibly an SUV, in the water.

“The discovery was made by a member of the public who was diving at the time.

“The vehicle is completely submerged in the water. An operation will take place over the next number of days to remove it.”
