Car being driven erratically leads to massive cannabis seizure in Dublin

A car being driven erratically led to a massive cannabis seizure in West Dublin last night.

A man in his 40s was arrested following the bust, which resulted in around €70,000 worth of cannabis being taken off the streets.

Gardai from the Tallaght District Drugs Unit stopped the motor in the Donomore estate and uncovered around two and a half kilos of cannabis herb.

A follow-up search in a house in Tallaght uncovered a further kilogram of the drug, with gardai revealing that the total value of the weed is around €70,000.

A Garda spokesperson said: "On the evening of Sunday 18th October 2020, Gardaí from the Tallaght District Drugs Unit observed a vehicle driving erratically in the Donomore Estate.

"This vehicle was subsequently stopped and approximately 2.5kg of cannabis was located in the vehicle.

"A follow up search of an address in the Tallaght area yielded a further find of 1kg of cannabis.

"The total value of the drugs seized is approximately €70,000 subject to forensic analysis.

"A male in his 40s was arrested and detained in respect of the drugs seizure."
