Car and van on fire in Anderston in early morning blaze

Firefighters rushed to Anderston in the early hours of the this morning after a car and van were seen alight.

One fire crew was called to the scene on St Vincent Terrace shortly after 2am.

The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no casualties as a result of the blaze.

Residents in Finnieston reported hearing sirens in the early hours of this morning.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.02am on Tuesday, June 9 to reports of vehicles on fire within a car park on St Vincent Terrace, Glasgow.

"One fire appliance was mobilised to the scene, and crews extinguished a fire involving one car and one van.

"There were no reported casualties, and crews left at 2.39am."
