Car and tram involved in crash in Nottingham

Tram services were delayed  on Thursday evening after a car crashed into one of the services.

A picture taken at the scene shows a red car having been involved in a crash with a tram in The Meadows area near to the Experian offices.

The incident was reported around 7.20pm on Thursday evening (January 15).

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) confirmed no one was injured in the incident.

At the time of the incident, NET tweeted: "We have no Hucknall/Toton Lane service between The Railway Station and NG2.

"NCT Orange buses are accepting our tickets and passes."

The incident was over by 9.45pm with services re-running to their destinations with some wait times.

A spokesman for NET said: "We can confirm a car collided with a tram at around 7.20pm last night at the NG2 Queen's Road junction.

"No injuries were reported at the scene although services were disrupted to enable recovery operations and we would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding.

"An investigation into the incident is ongoing."

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers were called at around 7.20pm, car and a tram collided in Enterprise Way, no injuries.

"Tram was up and running and roads fully open by 9.40pm."
