Car and portacabin deliberately torched in Dundee as police launch probe

A portable cabin has been deliberately torched and a car has been left extensively damaged as a result.

Police officers responded to calls of a cabin on fire at Foggyley Gardens, Dundee around 12.10am on Tuesday September 21.

While at the scene, emergency services also found that a car had also caught fire and been destroyed as a result of the blaze.

Police Scotland are now appealing for any information which could help establish the full circumstances and find any suspects.

Sergeant Barry Cochlan from Lochee Police Station said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who could help us establish the full circumstances of this incident, and help us trace the person or persons responsible.

“If you were in the area of Foggyley Gardens in the early hours of Tuesday morning, and saw anything suspicious, please get in touch.

“We would also ask any motorists with dash-cams who were travelling through at the time to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 0031 of Tuesday, 21 September, 2021. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
