Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising at a property in Larkhall.
The incident was reported around 10.50pm on Tuesday, August 27 when a black Ford Fiesta and front door of a house were set on fire on Westerton Avenue.
No one was injured however the car and front of the house were damaged.
The suspect is described as male, wearing a dark coloured top with the hood up and dark coloured trousers.
Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Sergeant Laura Sands, of Cambuslang CID said: "This was a deliberate and reckless act that we believe was targeted.
"Thankfully the occupants of the house were not injured, however this was very frightening for them and if they had not become aware of the fire so quickly and contacted emergency services, this could have been much worse.
"We are currently carrying out inquiries in the local area and viewing CCTV footage in an attempt to identify the person responsible. From inquiries carried out so far it appears a dark car and a white van passed the scene around the time of the incident.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen someone acting suspicious in or around Westerton Avenue and Craigbank Street to get in touch."
