Many locals witnessed the chase which began after a silver Nissan Almeira failed to stop for officers on Cardiffsbridge Road in Finglas.

A pursuit got underway and the car went up Casement Road and through Charlestown past IKEA, Dublin Live reports.

It was eventually abandoned at a roundabout in Poppintree and the occupants ran from the scene.
