Hamilton boccia star Steph McGuire says captaining the Team GB BC4s team at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics was a proud moment, and says it has been an incredible journey in the sport.
The tournament ended in disappointment for the 37-year-old, as his side crashed out at the group stages, after he had done the same in individual competition.
Wins over Brazil and Canada weren't enough to earn a semi-final place, after defeats against world champions Slovakia and Portugal in a head-to-head to see which nation progressed.
In the individual competition, McGuire beat Japan's Shun Esaki, but lost to Hong Kong's Wong Kwan Hang and Colombian Euclides Grisales.
In a social media post, 37-year-old McGuire said: "It's been an incredible journey.
"Boccia is one of the toughest sports in the world to achieve medal success. I've watched the sport develop from sheer precision to where power and precision is king.

"It's a fantastic sport to watch when played like some of the medallist in Tokyo.
"Sadly, Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games was not meant to be. We lost in a head-to-head situation after defeat to Portugal.
"I'm very proud of what our group achieved by beating Brazil and Canada.
"It's been a privilege to lead and call the shots throughout these Games. Best wishes to all the countries in medal matches tomorrow.
"Time to recover physically and mentally, debrief it properly in time, and take things from there.
"Thanks for your support, I'm forever grateful."
