Captain Tom Moore's fundraising efforts will now reach Northern Ireland

Captain Tom Moore's fundraising efforts will now benefit Northern Ireland patients as well.

The veteran, who celebrates his 100th birthday on April 30, raised over £28million for NHS Charities Together by walking 100 laps of his garden.

Northern Ireland's five health Trusts and Ambulance Service were not initially beneficiaries of the charity despite donations from the region.

But Belfast Live can reveal that they have now been added to the list.

A statement from Charities Together read: "I am very pleased to inform you that we have several new members from NI."

It is unclear at this stage how much they will receive in Covid-19 grants, but they are now among the NHS services that will benefit.

NHS Charities Together will now help:

Belfast HSC Trust Charitable Trust Fund
NI Ambulance Service HSC Trust Charitable Trust Funds
Northern Health and Social Care Trust
South Eastern Health and Social Care Charitable Trust
Southern Health and Social Care Trust Charitable Trust Funds
Western Health & Social Care Trust
