Captain Sir Tom Moore tributes - here's how to pay your respects to the NHS hero

Tributes have been flooding in for Captain Sir Thomas Moore following his death on Tuesday (February 2).

During the first lockdown in England, the World War Two veteran raised almost £39million for NHS charities, and became a sign of hope for many millions across the UK.

The former British Army officer became a hero when he walked with his frame around his garden to raise money for the NHS.

Turning 100 on April 20, the man who became known as Captain Tom was made an honorary colonel of the Army Foundation College for his efforts, and later invested as a Knight Bachelor at Windsor Castle - becoming Sir Tom.

Following his passing, tributes have been shared online from MPs, celebrities, people who knew Captain Tom and people who didn't.

And among those who have been making heartfelt comments are members of the public who just feel like they wanted to mark the passing of an inspiration.

As the Union Flag flies at half mast in Downing Street tonight, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: "Captain Sir Tom Moore was a hero in the truest sense of the word. His legacy will long live after him."

Now we want you to celebrate Captain Tom your way, by writing your own tribute to him using the form below

It could be a couple of words about how he inspired you.

Or maybe his selflessness during the pandemic really helped you get through tough days.

Whatever it was, it's time to celebrate the man who did so much for us at a time when the country needed him.

So please pay tribute, and we will pass on the messages to Captain Tom’s family.
