Capitals players make touching gesture by gifting Taylor Chorney a Stanley Cup ring

Taylor Chorney finally got his Stanley Cup ring.

Months after the Washington Capitals won a title in 2018, Chorney’s former teammates presented him with a token of victory. Chorney wasn’t awarded the ring initially, as the Capitals waived him after 24 games. The Columbus Blue Jackets then signed him for just one game.

“This is something everybody wanted to chip in here,” Orpik told Chorney in the video posted by the Grand Forks Herald. “It’s definitely something everybody here thinks you deserve.”

“Boys, I don’t even know what to say,” Chorney responded. The reveal of the ring drew applause from the Capitals in attendance.

You don’t see hockey guys get emotional often. This is honestly pretty close to a 10 out of 10.
